Visiting Hawaiʻi.

A beautiful, offline-first travel guide for visitors who want authentic local Hawaiʻi — not overcrowded tourist traps. Explore six islands with respect for culture, land, and community.

Travel pono

Hawaiʻi is a living culture and homeland — not a backdrop. Visiting Hawaiʻi emphasizes kapu (sacred restrictions), mālama ʻāina (care for the land), local businesses, hidden gems, and sustainable choices. We avoid promoting overtourism hotspots and chain restaurants unless they have genuine local ties.

This app is developed independently by RootRecord. It is not affiliated with the State of Hawaiʻi or any tourism bureau. In emergencies, always follow civil defense and official instructions.

FAQ

Common questions.

When does it launch?

We are in active development. Waitlist members hear about private betas and public release first. There is no fixed date yet.

Is it free?

The core guide is planned as free with bundled island content. Future premium tiers may add advanced offline maps or exclusive local content — always optional.

How is this different from Kīlauea Alerts?

Kīlauea Alerts focuses on Hawaiʻi Island volcano, earthquake, and hazard context. Visiting Hawaiʻi is a broader travel guide across all major visitor islands.

Do you use my data for ads?

The guide is designed local-first: favorites and notes stay on your device. Waitlist email is only for product updates unless you opt into broader RootRecord mail separately.

Can locals contribute tips?

Not at launch. We plan a moderated, read-only local tips section later so quality and cultural accuracy stay high.
