RootRecord Testing on Google Groups

Open the group, sign in with Google, and request to join. After you are a member, continue to the closed testing links page to opt in and install each app.

Group URL: https://groups.google.com/g/rootrecordtesting

Before you start

  • Use a personal Google account you control (not a shared or work account unless that is the account on your Android phone’s Play Store).
  • On your Android device, confirm which Google account is active in the Play Store app (profile icon → account). Closed testing only works when the group account and Play Store account match.
  • Some apps are public on Google Play and do not require this group. See Android beta testing links for the full list.

How to join (step by step)

  1. Open RootRecord Testing in a browser (phone or desktop).
  2. Sign in with the Google account you use on your Android Play Store.
  3. Tap Join group (or Ask to join if the group is moderated).
  4. If approval is required, wait until your membership shows as active, then refresh the group page.
  5. Continue to Android closed testing links, open the Join closed testing link for each app, accept the test on that device, then install from the Play Store.

After you join

Install paths, web apps, public Play listings, and GitHub APKs are maintained on one page so we can update links without editing every product page:

Troubleshooting

  • Play says you are not a tester — Confirm you joined the group with the same email as Play Store, wait a few minutes after approval, then open the app’s closed-testing link again on the phone.
  • Join button missing — Sign out of other Google accounts in the browser or try an incognito window signed in only to the correct account.
  • Still stuck — Ask on Discord or Contact.

Rewards & feedback

Testers can earn Root Units in participating apps and discuss builds on Discord. Create a free RootRecord account for sign-in inside apps that support it.
